Learn in a practical way. Practise safely. Understand better.

A digital learning and simulation environment for medical education.

CURRENT INFORMATION

Complementary digital learning formats in medical education

Axonevo is under development.

We are developing the platform together with medical students, teaching staff as well as partners from science and education. The goal is a digital learning environment that complements existing teaching formats and sustainably supports clinical training.

WHY AXONEVO

The gap between theory and clinical practice

Medical students acquire broad theoretical knowledge, yet have only limited opportunities to train clinical reasoning in a systematic and repeatable manner.

The transition from lectures and textbooks to real clinical situations is often:

  • unstructured

  • severely limited in time

  • dependent on chance and individual supervision

At the same time, student numbers are increasing while clinical training resources remain limited. As a result, it is becoming increasingly difficult to ensure consistently high training quality.

Axonevo addresses this gap with a structured, simulation-based learning environment. Within it, clinical decision-making processes are intended to be practised, reflected upon and deepened in a targeted way.

OUR APPROACH

Digital practice. Clinically grounded.

Axonevo digitally maps key clinical learning situations. Students work with structured case examples, make clinical decisions, reflect on their consequences, and deepen their understanding step by step.

Learning takes place in a controlled environment that provides room for mistakes, repetition, and targeted deepening. The platform supports self-directed learning, independent of location, and as a complement to the curriculum.

The approach is designed to structure clinical reasoning in a transparent way and, in the long term, to make it comparable and evaluable as well.

Axonevo is primarily aimed at medical students, and the platform is currently being developed in close alignment with the requirements of medical education.

The platform complements existing teaching and examination formats and supports targeted preparation for practical training phases as well as clinical examinations.

CURRENT SITUATION

Current learning situation in medical studies

I have my federal OSCE this Monday, the second part of the Swiss Federal Examination in Human Medicine. I am really starting to panic that I am going to completely mess up the OSCE, especially as it now lasts four hours and the previous OSCEs during my studies only lasted two hours. I am generally not the best in this examination format, as I become extremely nervous and feel as though I forget half of what I know. In previous OSCEs there was also no feedback from the examiners that would have allowed me to improve. Do you have any last-minute tips on how I could get through it reasonably well? Or any tips on how to calm down? I am sorry if this post seems somewhat disorganised.

How should I best prepare for the OSCEs if I have two weeks remaining? The final examinations in medical studies are currently taking place in Switzerland. I completed the written examinations (comparable to Step 2 CK) a week ago, and to be honest I am feeling quite exhausted at the moment and unsure how to use the remaining time optimally for OSCE preparation. I am working through cases and revising examination techniques, but I have done this very often during my studies and therefore feel correspondingly tired.
Do you have any tips or a sensible structure for the best possible preparation?
